Page Media

The Page Media section of the Book Page editor provides the easiest way to put non-text content into your book. Currently there are 5 Media Types to choose from. Samples for each type are available in the Drupal Customizations book.
- Video: this puts an flv or mp4 video file directly into your page. You can point to any web location, or upload the file to Drupal4Ed using the File Attachment feature. This feature should not be used for YouTube video, which can be pulled into Drupal by other means.
- Problem Set: The xml required for the Word Problems activity is a bit tricky to create, and as yet no online editor for problems has been provided. If you would like to take advantage of the Word Problems features, visit the Moonlight Multimedia documentation.
- magTool: This feature requires two images. Enter the path to the one which is visible initially in the Mag: small image textfield, and the path to the hidden image in the Mag: large image textfield.
- mini-book: The minibook is simply another way to put plain text into a Drupal book. This is particularly valuable if you want students to have easy access to side-panel content while reading a large amount of text, since the pages do not have to be scrolled.
- Other: large images with the file extension gif, jpg or png can be displayed using this option. A full-screen button allows images to be scaled down for initial presentation, and then enlarged at the student's option. Some swf content will also work well here, but be sure to test it out first as problems may arise with swf content requiring a dark background, a non-standard frame rate, or other unsupported features.
- coming soon: Media Type options for YouTube, Learning Objects, and Flash are all slated for addition. All these features can already be placed within a Book, but easier editing is coming!
