Site Enhancements

The purpose of Drupal4Ed is to make it as easy as possible for teachers and faculty members to create valuable online content for their students. Having said that, I want to make it clear that Drupal4Ed is NOT a Learning Management System (LMS). If you have access to an LMS, my advice would be to learn as much as possible about what can be done within it before looking outside the LMS for additional functionality.

That said, you may well find that for certain types of content, Drupal4Ed is far far easier to use than your LMS, and any LMS can be linked to a Drupal4Ed page quite easily.

For those who do not have access to an LMS, or for those who for whatever reason do not wish to use the LMS available at their institution, Drupal4Ed provides a very easy way to create and maintain content for your students. This content is searchable, and can be tracked, which means that teachers have an easy way to know which of their students has viewed content, on a page-by-page basis.

In addition to content you create for your students, there is the content your students can easily ADD to your site. Students can add their own comments to most pages, contribute to blogs or forums, and add or create content in areas targeted for their groups. Many LMS's offer similar options, and care must be taken not to overwhelm students with too many places to look. Choose at most 2 vehicles for required student-generated content, and be thoughtful about how many non-required options you make available. More is not always better.
